Once students have a good understanding of the phonemes, model how to blend them together to create and read simple words. For instance, after you've taught your students the /A/ and /M/ phonemes, you can blend them together to create the word /M/A/.

Don't know any French words, nor speak the language?  No worries! Use the word lists provided to help you teach recommended high frequency French words (the most commonly used French words for Kindergarten and Grade 1).

Notice the word sac written on the white board in the picture. This word was written after introducing the students to the first 3 sounds of the phonics program /S/A/C/. Students were taught how to blend the phonemes together to read the word sac.

The word is written to lowercase to follow best practice guidelines for teaching handwriting.
