FLASHCARDS EXPLAINED:
- Each card has 1 of the 36 phonemes (sounds)
- Each card has an image to illustrate the phoneme (these images match those used in the French Phonemic Awareness Resources.
- You can hide the image with your thumb if practicing phoneme recall during conferencing.
- You can reveal the image to prompt students with phoneme recall.
- Vowels are coloured in green.
HOW TO USE THESE:
- Use them one on one with a student (student-teacher conference) or during small group instruction to consolidate learning of phonemes and graphemes.
- Use them with the whole class by projecting them onto the whiteboard with a camera (IPEVO, Ladybug or IPAD). Blend phonemes together; create rhyming words; manipulate phonemes, etc.
- Use them in Literacy Centers: students can create and read words with the flashcards, students can match the phoneme flashcard with various objects, etc.
HOW TO PRINT:
- Print them onto Avery Business cards - 2''x3 1/2'' and laminate.
- You can also print them onto cardstock or normal paper. You'll just have to cut each card out.
